Ogtay Shiraliyev: “No complications in anti-A/H1N1 vaccination in Azerbaijan”

“A/H1N1 infection cases were identified in 211 countries, overseas territories or communities and more than 15 000 people died as result of infection.

17:32 / 19.02.2010 14 infection cases were identified in Azerbaijan, but there were no fatal consequences and all infected people recovered”, said Health Minister of Azerbaijan Ogtay Shiraliyev at a press conference on Friday, APA reports. He said 172 000 doses vaccines sent to Azerbaijan by the World Health Organization (WHO) were inoculated to medical and customs workers, as well as border servicemen, pregnant women, people suffered from chronic disease of breathing passages. 80 percent of vaccination was conducted in the country.
The minister said there were no complications in anti-virus vaccination process, “There were various talks about the anti-A/H1N1 vaccines. European Regional Bureau of the World Health Organization unites 53 countries. 9 countries, including Azerbaijan entered the permanent committee of the Bureau. It is difficult to give exact information about the effect of vaccines because there were no reports about complications in the countries first started inoculation. Sometimes the people tied some complications with the vaccination. It is not right. There was no case of complications during the vaccination in Azerbaijan”.
