Azerbaijani Parliament appeals to U.S. Congress

Azerbaijani Parliament appealed to the U.S. Congress in connection with the aid allocated to Nagorno Karabakh.

[16.12.2009] APA reports that member of the commission set up to prepare the document, MP Musa Guliyev presented the appeal.

The appeal says that separatist, puppet regime has been set up in Nagorno Karabakh, those territories have become shelter of terrorist organizations. It is also noted that OSCE Minsk Group have not justified the expectations.

Georgia begins to deploy troops on South Ossetia border

Georgia is going to get back Akhalgori (Leningor) region of South Ossetia by force.

[16.12.2009] Russian Defense Ministry said Georgia deployed troops in the territory bordering on this region. The Vedomosti newspaper writes that the American military instructors are teaching the Georgian army the war tactics in the mountainous area. The relief of Akhalgori is mountainous. Geographically this region has been isolated from the rest of the area of South Ossetia. One fourth of the population is Georgians.
Nikolai Makarov, Chief of the Russian General Staff, has recently said Georgian army has restored, even increased its military potential after the August war.
“Russian media reports that Georgia is deploying troops on South Ossetia border are false,” Shota Utiashvili, head of Georgian Interior Ministry’s information and analytical department, told APA’s Georgia bureau He said Georgia had not deployed military forces in Akhalgori.
