Mahmoud Ahmadinejad thanks Azerbaijan for not joining IAEA resolution against Iran

Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said relations with friendly and fraternal Azerbaijan were strengthened in all spheres.

11:19 / 15.12.2009 In his meeting with the Azerbaijani foreign minister Elmar Mammadyarov in Tehran, Ahmadinejad welcomed steps made toward the extension of cooperation between the two countries which have historic and deep relations. He said there were many spheres and huge potential to develop the cooperation and it would be in favor of whole region. “Iranian people welcome the development of Azerbaijan”.

Ahmadinejad thanked to Azerbaijan for not joining the draft resolution of the International Atomic Energy Agency against Iran and said it was an indication of brotherhood.

Mammadyarov stressed the development of political and economic relations between Azerbaijan and Iran in recent years and said they intended further development of the relations. He noted that Azerbaijan would not support decisions of the international organizations against Iran.
