8.02.10 Yulia Tymoshenko, Ukraine’s prime minister, has threatened to mastermind a second Orange Revolution if a presidential election she hopes to win on Sunday is rigged, APA reports quoting “UNIAN”.
Her threat ratchets up tensions ahead of the poll in which she will face off against Viktor Yanukovych, the Kremlin-friendly candidate defeated by the original Orange Revolution in 2004. Though both candidates have courted Russia in recent months, Mr Yanukovych’s policies are seen as more amenable to the Kremlin, while the glamorous Mrs Tymoshenko is viewed as more pro-European.
