Yulia Tymoshenko warns of second Orange Revolution

13:34 / 08.02.2010 Yulia Tymoshenko, Ukraine’s prime minister, has threatened to mastermind a second Orange Revolution if a presidential election she hopes to win on Sunday is rigged, APA reports quoting “UNIAN”.
Her threat ratchets up tensions ahead of the poll in which she will face off against Viktor Yanukovych, the Kremlin-friendly candidate defeated by the original Orange Revolution in 2004. Though both candidates have courted Russia in recent months, Mr Yanukovych’s policies are seen as more amenable to the Kremlin, while the glamorous Mrs Tymoshenko is viewed as more pro-European.
In the event of any fraud, Mrs Tymoshenko said she would not hesitate to set in motion a repeat of the Orange Revolution and call her supporters onto the main square of Kiev, the Ukrainian capital.
"If Yanukovych wants an honest fight we are ready to compete with him," she said. "But if he seeks to cheat, we will give him resistance of a kind he has never seen before, even in 2004." "We will rally the people," she added, accusing Mr Yanukovych of preparing to "rape democracy".
