“Genocide” documentary dedicated to Genocide Day of Azerbaijanis – March 31 presented

Today presentation of “Genocide” documentary dedicated to Genocide Day of Azerbaijanis - March 31 has been held at Cinematographers Union of Azerbaijan.

30.03.10 The film has been made by Eurasian Institute for International Studies Public Union. Film is about the people who lost parents, relatives during Guba genocide on March 31 in 1918 committed by Armenians. Scenario and director is Etibar Mammadov, Editor is Kamala Pashayeva, scientific reviewer is Musa Gasimli and main advisor is MP Ganira Pashayeva.

Delivering a speech chief of Eurasian Institute for International Studies Public Union, Gunel Pashayeva spoke about genocides committed by Armenians in different regions of Azerbaijan. To her, nearly 700 000 Azerbaijanis were savagely killed during genocides in 1918-20. Pashayeva said that the film would be demonstrated at TV channels of Azerbaijan, the English version of the film would be presented in US and some countries of Europe in April. Besides, the film will be distributed to international community via Foreign Ministry, Committee on Affairs with the Diaspora, state and non-governmental organizations, Diaspora organizations. Pashayeva noted that the film had been shot in Guba region. Opinions of representatives of other nations subjected to genocide in Guba besides Azerbaijanis have also been reflected in the film.

“Information must be given as it is, not as commented by journalists in Khankendi,” he said.
Commenting on the statement that the sides reached a common agreement on the Madrid principles with the exception of four points, Merzlyakov said he had not made such a statement in Khankendi.

The death toll in the Moscow metro attacks reached 39, as a woman treated in Sklifosovski Institute died on March 30, Andrei Seltsovsky, head of Moscow Health Department said.
