Baku Metro to install 4-way escalators

16:59 / 18.11.2009 Baku Metro will install 4-way escalators in the metro stops instead of 3-way escalators used up to now,” said Tagi Ahmedov, Chief of Baku Metro.

According to him, the new escalators will be installed at "Elmlyar Akademiyasy" Station where there is a high density of passenger traffic.

"This will be in about 8 years. Most escalators will be replaced in 8 years. The term of service for escalators is 50 years, and Baku Metro is 42 years old. So we have time. All escalators will be replaced in the future,” he noted.
