Gunman threatening editor-in-chief of Yeni Azerbayjan newspaper arrested

An editor-in-chief was threatened by a gunman in Azerbaijan’s capital, Interior Ministry’s press service told APA.

13:00 / 27.10.2009 Editor-in-chief of the Yeni Azerbayjan newspaper Hikmat Mammadov driving Toyota had a quarrel with the driver of a Mercedes in Dilara Aliyeva street, Nasimi district at 12.10. The driver took a gun out of the boot of the car, threatened Hikmat Mammadov and escaped. Nasimi district police carried out an operation and detained Anvar Sadigov, resident of Mammad Amin Rasulzadeh settlement. 1 AK gun, 29 bullets and 1 charger were found in the flat rented by him in M. Fatali street, 152. Investigation is underway.
