71 human trafficking cases registered and 18 groups and one organized group neutralized in Azerbaijan this year
71 human trafficking cases registered and 18 groups and one organized group neutralized as a result of preventive-operational measures and totally 65 criminals were unmasked in Azerbaijan in the past period of 2009.
12:18 / 27.10.2009 19 officers participated in the discovering of criminal cases were awarded by the Interior Ministry, National Coordinator on Combating Human Trafficking reported to Milli Mejlis (Azerbaijani Parliament), APA reports. The parliament will hold hearing of report on Tuesday. The reporter said 47 of 82 human trafficking victims, including one child were sent to the rehabilitation centers where they received legal, medical and psychological assistances. Most of them were reintegrated into the society. 17 were provided with jobs and 32 were sent to the different vocational courses where they received certificates. Azerbaijan Owners Confederation supported 9 of them. “Children received relevant assistances and one of them was placed to the boarding school by the Ministry of Education and three – to the kindergartens. Series measures were taken for improvement of work toward legal, medical and psychological assistances to the human trafficking victims and additional health centers were created for providing them with medical aid. Most of the victims were checked up and received necessary ambulatory and stationary aid”.
76 human trafficking victims received single money compensations, 43 received aid from the Human Trafficking Victims Support Fund and according to the court decisions 11 people received compensation for material damage they suffered as a result of crimes. 8 of 5163 calls received on hotline were about human trafficking, 27 – about immoral places and involvement in prostitution. Other calls were about the job searches and education in foreign countries, marriages with foreigners and etc. 160 people were brought to justice for 217 criminal cases, including 72 involvements in prostitution, 134 keeping the immoral places. 749 women involved in prostitution were administratively punished. 1185 people were brought to justice for 1298 human trafficking facts found out in 2005-2008 and in the past period of this year. 192 criminal groups, including 15 organized groups were neutralized.Bu yazı ( 347 ) - dəfə oxunmuşdur
