Reasons of two-storey building collapse in Baku identified

Reasons of the collapse of two-storey residential building in Binagadi district of Baku were identified.

19:30 / 13.03.2010 Crisis Control Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan received information about the collapse of the building at 12.15 on Friday and immediately sent rescuers to the site. Experts identified that raw-brick foundation of the building didn’t sustain against the ground waters and collapsed under the pressure of heavy rains.
Rescuers evacuated 36 people and rescued one and then investigated the site to be sure that there were no people under the collapsed part of the building.

The building was in the balance of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan.
