THAT TIME THE JUMHURIYYET WAS CELEBRATING ITS 69 YEAR OLD
23:28 / 29.10.2009 The days pass away, and I feel the sun set of my life. I spent 50, I often remember this words. For this reason, I attempt to put in a row the spent days. Always, 1992, 29 October stands in a first place in this lining up.
Because, on that day I visited to the foreign country as a journalist, but I am happy that, that country was native Turkey. Some 17 years ago, a great ceremony was celebrated related with the 69 anniversary of the establishing “Jumhuriyyet” (Independent Republic) before the Summit of the nations speaking Turkish languages in Ataturk Culture Centre in Ankara. It was my first visit to Turkey. I was breathing with my second motherland’s air that I was regretting for it for many years and looking from the thorny wires. I wanted to look around with four eyes. As through I was flying. The Red Square of Moscow was crushed by Ataturk Culture Center in my imagination. There was everything so dear, so native. Everybody could embrace the “Jumhuriyyet” first of all, along with the love, native and sincere feelings.
Some 17 years ago conjecture at 11 o’clock the Earth as through run from its arrow. I was feeling that, this huge square wouldn’t be able to carry the heaviness of the ceremony related with the anniversary of the “Jumhuriyyet”.
The voice of the march, in the background of the Turkish music sung for the honor of the martyrs and soldiers, Ataturk’s words said about Turkish world and Jumhuriyyet were brought everybody that carry the love Turkish to excitation. After some time the parade began. There were seen the Turkish falcons-F 16-s. They were going round and then disappearing from the sight of view. They were passing through the square. While looking at the sightseeing the voice of the armed tanks was heard. I was feeling that, my heart was crammed to my throat, and my pulse was beating in my throat. I wanted to cry with bitterly and to call out all over the world: “Look at the strength of the Turkish”. “Look at our strength”. The grandeur of the parade of pedestrian forces added a different sightseeing to the ceremony. I have never seen such a grandiose. I felt that, the Turkish Jumhuriyyet said to the Turkish generations: “Don’t be afraid of any difficulties and problems. Protect our independence as an apple of the eyes. There is such strong brother, Turkish Jumhuriyyet behind you”.
Some 17 years ago on October 29 the holiday strengthened with other celebration. There was a grandiose opening of the great Ambassador of Azerbaijan in brother country. The words of the president Turgut Ozal is ringing in my ears nowadays. “Once risen flag never descends”. Now the three colored Azerbaijan flag with moon and stars on will rise to the sky and never descends from the sky of Ankara. Let it bring benefit and success. For a long time I was under the influence of that celebration. The years passed away and although I was more than once Turkey, the tracks of that day never forgotten.
It lasts 16 years that, I pursue the celebrations devoted to the anniversary of the Jumhuriyyet. I hear the speeches and look at Turkish soldiers’ heroic steps in the Ataturk Culture Centre. At the same time I visit to the past and take comparisons. I feel that, Ataturk’s portrait on the top head of Ataturk Culture Center feels the stranger breath and at that moment his authoritative glances enter the owners of that stranger breath. During 17 years there were many changes both in the world and in Turkey. There is only one thing that remained unchangeable. As our leader Heydar Aliyev said: “one nation, two states”. Sometimes we see some shades not suiting to these principles. The traps around Turkey and Azerbaijan, the politic games and other things. But there is only one reality that, it doesn’t exits anything that can part us and never will exist. I am the author of the many articles written about one of states of one nation Turkey, the politic events in the international atmosphere related with Turkey. I have written all these articles with great love and respect to Ataturk and his keepsake Jumhuriyyet . But only one article is an exception. That article was about the events happened in Turkey after murder of the editor-in-chief of the “Agos” newspaper Hrant Dink. That time I have given such a title to my article: “I wouldn’t like to see my second motherland in crumpled and petty”. I have written that, the trap and the politic games was so strong that, is shook the Turkey and the Bosfor Strait turbulent its borders and got across 600 meters. But the Turkey was not drowning in the water, Ankara was training in the coma created by the politic frauds. Nowadays the brother Turkey carry out “opening politic” and I wouldn’t like this situation to create another coma position. Because many openings case many disturbance. I remembered one saying of Mustafa Kamal Ataturk: “The Turkey Jumhuriyyet couldn’t be the society of the sheikhs and other such units. “The most right, the most real sect is culture sect”. Obviously, all that love Turkey Jumhuriyyet know that the most political direction Ataturk’s political heritage. Kamal Ataturk was teaching that, if one nation don’t protect with all its strength for its existence leaning its mental resources, it never will disappear from being toys of the others. This is the right way!
Kamal Ataturk was teaching that there is not possibility to judge one nation without invading its spirit, moral fiber and strength of mind. This is the right way!
Today the Turkey celebrates its 86 year old. In establishing this Jumhuriyyet the azerbaijanians also participated and became martyrs. So, it is our holiday, too. This holiday will be celebrated till the eternity. One nation and two states will celebrate both, 29 October and 28 May with great love and honor. I wish you many happy returns of the day 29 October!
