Russia’s first legal casino opens in Azov City

22:04 / 31.01.2010 Russia’s first legal casino after a ban on gambling business outside special areas opened in the southern Krasnodar Territory on Saturday, APA reports citing “Itar-Tass” news agency.

The president of the Kazan-based Royal Time Company, Rashid Taimasov, received an official document allowing his company to carry out gambling activities at the Casino Orakul in Azov City.

Tamasov leads a tour for VIP guests, officials from the administrations of the Krasnodar and Rostov regions as well as the Primorsky, Altai, and Kaliningrad region where gambling zones will also be created.

The interior of the casino is made in golden hues. The walls are draped to separate recreational areas from gambling tables. There is a bar counter for privileged players. There are separate cashier’s offices for VIP players and other visitors.

There are more than 200 slot machines and ten gambling tables in the casino occupying an area of 1,500 squire metres on the Azov coast, at the border between the Krasnodar Territory and the Rostov region.
