No winner in Romanian presidential elections

15:49 / 23.11.2009 No one from the candidates in the presidential elections in Romania could win absolute majority of the votes, APA reports. Exit poll results showed that incumbent president Traian Basescu and social-democrat Mircea Geoanna respectively gained 32 and 31 per cent of votes. 50 percent of voters participated in the voting. Observers said turnout of the voters was lower than previous elections. Second round of the elections will be held on December 6. This has been first presidential election in Romania since its membership to the European Union.
