Sergey Lebedev: CIS Finance Ministers Conference to meet this month
12:30 / 16.10.2009 Representatives from leading financial institutions and government agencies of the Countries of Independent States (CIS) will participate in the International Banking and Finance Conference entitled “Financial Markets in the Commonwealth: Development and Integration” in Baku on October 24-26, said the CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev.
He noted that the conference is an important event which will discuss important issues. “We had planned to hold this conference even before the global financial crisis. We hope that the conference will discuss topical issues of financial structures of CIS countries, and a new theme - overcoming the financial crisis through joint efforts”, - he said. He recalled that it was decided to establish a permanent conference of the CIS finance ministers at the recent CIS summit in Bishkek. “I just received information from Moscow that the first meeting of the ministers will take place there on October 21”.
