Azerbaijani media representatives visit mass graveyard in Guba

14:10 / 31.03.2010 Today a group of journalists has visited the mass graveyard in Guba created as a result of genocide perpetrated by Armenians against Azerbaijanis, APA reports quoting Guba bureau. About 20 journalists representing different mass media organizations visited the mass graveyard, paid homage to the genocide victims and laid flowers on the graves.

MP Vahid Ahmadov, head of Guba Executive Power Rauf Habibov and local society representatives attended the visit.

Ahmadov told in his interview to journalists that works on erecting a genocide complex in mass graveyard revealed in Guba had been launched. To him, now there are being carried out damming of the Gudyalchay River running near the cemetery: “Damming works are important here because of the slip in this area. The construction of the genocide complex will likely begin at the end of April, in early May. Negotiations are conducted on evacuation of residents. They haven’t been paid compensations yet”.

After the visit, there was a meeting in front of the genocide monument in Guba.
