Former serviceman commits suicide in Azerbaijan
Suicide was recorded in Yeni Zod village of Azerbaijan’s Goygol region. Goygol region police office told APA’s west bureau that Aliyev Janpolad Ali, who was renting a flat in Baku, cut his veins in Yeni Zod village of Goygol region.
13:43 / 28.01.2010 The causes of the suicide are not known. Criminal case has been launched on the fact.
The Azadlig newspaper has today reported that colonel of the Defense Ministry Janpolad Ali Aliyev was found dead near Togana village. It reportedly happened a week ago. Aliyev was the commander of the military unit of Air Defense Forces in Mingachevir. After the assassination of commander of Air Defense Forces Rail Rzayev, Janpolad Aliyev was dismissed. He continued teaching on the Military Academy. According to the article, Janpolad Aliyev was to be appointed chief of Ganja regional center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Deputy chief of Defense Ministry’s press service Teymur Abdullayev told APA that Janpolad Aliyev was demobilized long ago.
“Janpolad Aliyev was Lieutenant-Colonel, not colonel. On the other hand, he had been demobilized three years before Rail Rzayev’s assassination. He had no links to the Academy,” he said.
Rail Rzayev was killed on February 11, 2009.
