Park named after Heydar Aliyev to be established in Kiev

14:45 / 23.01.2010 The park located near the Azerbaijani embassy in Kiev is being reestablished in the eastern style, APA reports quoting Ukrainian mass media. The park will be named after Heydar Aliyev. The project is being implemented by the Azerbaijani embassy in Ukraine and Kiev state administration.

Roses, magnolias, sakura trees, hawthorn and other plants will be grown in the park. A ten layer waterfall will be established in the center of the park, the water will fall into the artificial lake. The waterfall will be lightened in the evenings.

Azerbaijan has allocated funds for the reestablishment of the park. The park will be opened in May this year. The duplicate of Shaikh Safi carpet made in mosaic technique will also be presented that day.

This Azerbaijani carpet woven in 1524 is kept in Victoria and Albert Museum. It measures 11m x 5.3m and is considered to be the eighth wonder of the world.
