Hidayat Orujov: “The chains used in religious ceremonies are smuggled to Azerbaijan”
“The chains used in the religious ceremonies in Azerbaijan are smuggled to Azerbaijan”, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Associations Hidayat Orujov told journalists, APA reports.
00:08 / 18.12.2009 The committee chairman said public community didn’t accept such cases and the State Customs Committee and other relevant organizations were taking special measures to prevent chain smuggling to the country.
Orujov said called on the leaders of religious communities of the country to be sensitive in such issues. “Day of Ashura is a tragedy for whole Muslim world. But some radical forces are trying to use this day for their goals. Some people, beating themselves with chains, were identified last year in the different parts of the country and during the investigation it became clear that they seek other goals.
