Ambassador Mahir Aliyev: “Baku-Damascus flight is negotiated”
23:17 / 17.12.2009 A number of mutual visits are expected between Azerbaijan and Syria in 2010, Azerbaijani ambassador to Syria Mahir Aliyev told APA. The ambassador said direct air communication played an important role in the extension of relations between the countries. He said Baku-Damascus flights were negotiated now, but direct flight to Aleppo was not agenda yet.
The ambassador emphasized the energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Syria said one billion cubic meters of natural gas per year was planned to be sold to this country. “But realization of this intention depends on the construction of 167-km gas pipeline between Turkey and Syria.
