Deputy Prosecutor General: “Violence against women resulted with 16 death cases in Azerbaijan this year”
14 of facts of violence against women had fatal results in 2008, but death toll rose to 16 over the past ten months of this year”, said Deputy Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Namig Asgarov, APA reports.
14:43 / 02.12.2009 Asgarov attended the parliamentary hearing “Say No to Violence against Women”. He said last year 1657 cases of injuries of the women were identified and over the past ten month of this year this figure was 1312. There were 18 cases of kidnapping the women, but over the past period in 2009 it was 15.
The deputy prosecutor’s general said unfortunately women were involved in kidnapping cases for many times. Asgarov said the women also committed crimes in Azerbaijan.
