Azerbaijan’s parliament approves state budget bill for 2010 -

Azerbaijan’s parliament Milli Majlis has approved the state budget bill for 2010 with 101 votes for and 8 votes against the draft.

23:27 / 02.12.2009 Finance Minister Samir Sharif reported at the parliament that the total state budget expenditures were not increased but some changes were made in the structure of expenditures.

According to him, the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan’s budget expenditure is increased by AZN 20 million, which is the part of the consolidated budget, for the development of alternative sources of energy and environmental improvement activities.

With the increase included, the ceiling of consolidated budget expenditure will amount to AZN 12.636 billion.

According to the minister, extra AZN 3 million will be allocated for improving the activities of scientific research institutions and equipping them with modern equipment, extra AZN 4 million for the state program for people with diabetes, extra AZN 6.3 million for restoration of monuments, establishment of culture centers abroad, shooting of documentaries etc.
In addition, AZN 458 000 and 580 000 will be added to the salary fund of Milli Majlis and the Foreign Ministry respectively.


The budget bill for 2010 envisages revenue of AZN 12 177 million and expenses of AZN 12 355 million.

Salim Muslimov, Chairman of State Social Protection Fund (SSPF), said that the budget of SSPF is set at AZN 1 757.216 million.

The subsistence minimum was set at AZN 87 and the government-set conditional criterion of needs at AZN 65.

Expenditures of Milli Majlis and the Chamber of Accounting were set approved at AZN 16 827 033 and AZN 3 727 021.


After the vote, the state budget and other bills were approved by 101 votes for and 8 votes
