Azerbaijani president attends the opening of several facilities in Goranboy
23:33 / 21.11.2009 President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of newly constructed settlement for internally displaced persons near Veyisli village of Goranboy region. According to APA, 63 settlements with 18 716 houses were constructed for IDPs in the country and 82 000 refugees and IDPs were settled there so far. The refugee camps were closed.
The head of state was informed that 596 IDP families from Kelbajar region will be settled in the settlement. The president looked at the houses built in the settlement.
He attended the opening of secondary school, which will receive 360 children lived in the settlement. Then President Aliyev met with the representatives of Kelbajar.
The head of state was familiarized with the activity of Goranboy branch of Yevlakh-based Lale Textile Ltd, which produces mostly bed sets. There are 200 employees in the textile enterprise. Average monthly salary of the workers is AZN 300. The enterprise will open new production spheres in future which will employ more than 5000 people.
The president attended the opening of Goranboy Hotel.
The head of state was familiarized with work of Gilan and Knauf Gipso-karton Ltd, which began production in 2008. It provided more than 900 people with job places. The enterprise uses technologies of world’s leading cardboard company Knauf.
