Azerbaijan’s Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry: The level of water in the Kura river continues to rise
The level of water in the Kura river continued to rise at 8.00 this morning compared with 8.00 yesterday, senior hydrologist of the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Asif Verdiyev reported.
13:30 / 04.05.2010 The rise in Zardab settlement of the Kura was 14cm, Surra settlement of Sabirabad 19cm, in Shirvan 23cm, Salyan 13cm and Banka settlement of Neftchala 8cm.
Verdiyev said the precipitation recorded in the central lowland regions yesterday and this morning was less compared with the previous days. But it did not influence the rise of the water level in the Kura. The water level rose as the level of water in the rivers flowing into the Kura increased due to the heavy rainfall.
