Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources spread information on current situation in rivers of the republic and in transit rivers the ministery reported.

19:08 / 03.05.2010 National Hydrometeorology Department told that level in most rivers has raised due to rains lately. There was undurable flood in the rivers of Guba-Khazmaz region.

Now the highest level is in the rivers of Guba-Khazmaz region of the Greater Caucasus. Ten-day norm is 90-170 percent in the rivers of Balakan-Shaki region, 120-145 percent in the rivers of Lankaran-Astara. In other rivers level is below norm. That is, the level in the rivers of Little Caucasus is 60-70 percent.

Ten-day flow running to Shamkir dam through Giragkasaman terminal of the Kura River is 115 percent, that is, 825 cu m /sec. And ten-day flow running to Mingachevir dam through Ganikh River is 226 percent, that is, 448 cu m/sec.

And currently, lower streamway of Kura River has increased due to rains. That is, rise in Zardab has tolled to 110 centimeter. It is 152 centimeter in Surra (Sabirabad), 115 in Shrivan, 105 Salyan, 55 in Banka (Nefchala), 137 centimeter in Novruzlu (Saatli).

Now level in Zardab village is 760(434 centimeter in 2009), 881 in Surra(501 centimeter in 2009), 791 in Shirvan (396 centimeter in 2009), 796 in Salyan (436 centimeter in 2009), 486 in Banka (312 centimeter in 2009), 655 centimeter in Novruzlu terminal of Araz river (280 centimeter in 2009).
