Sufferers speak about details of mass killing at Azerbaijan State Oil Academy

17:45 / 22.04.2010 The Court of Grave Crimes continued hearing on the mass killing at the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy. APA reports that judge Ramella Allahverdiyeva presided over the hearing. The sufferers continued giving testimonies. Second-year student of the academy Ilkin Shiraliyev said when he was attending the lesson he heard blasts in the corridor.
“I was sitting at the last desk. I was near the door. Suddenly I felt that it was sound of bullet. My fellow student Emin left the room. We saw that he was shot. We held the door with our hands, quickly put desks, chairs in front of the door. The gunman approached our door, he tried to open it, but couldn’t. He shot at the glass of the door and broke it. We ran towards the window. He looked inside, for a few seconds we looked in the eyes of each other. He had very strange face and look. Then he began to shoot,” he said.
Shiraliyev said he had been shot in the abdomen.
“Three more students from our group were wounded,” he said.

Sufferers Aziz Vahidov, second-year student Bakhtiyar Jafarov, four-year student Jalal Gasimov, Ira Abdullayeva, mother of Emin Abdullayev, who was killed in the tragedy, and Taleh Gurbanov wanted the perpetrators of the crime to be punished.

The hearing will continue on May 3.

On April 30, an unknown man entered the building, where the faculties “Oil gas field” and “Oil engineering” of Azerbaijan Oil Academy located in Dilara Aliyeva Street, 227, and shot at everybody he met from the first floor up to the six floor. 12 were killed, 13 wounded in the aftermath of the shooting. Responsible employees of special task police unit, district police and prosecutor’s offices immediately arrived at the site. Seeing he will be rendered harmless by the police the criminal committed suicide. He was identified as the Georgian citizen Gadirov Farda Asad, 29.

Defendant Amirov Javidan Farman is charged with the articles 214.2.1 (terrorism), 28, 120.2.1 (preparation to deliberate murder), 120.2.3, 120.2.4, 120.2.5, 120.2.7, 120.2.10, 120.2.11, 120.2.12 (deliberate murder), 29 (attempt to deliberate murder), 206.4 (organized smuggling), 228.2.2, 228.3 (illegal storage, saving and carrying of arms and ammunitions), 234.1 (illegal storage and carrying of narcotic drugs), Aliyev Nadir Shirkhan and Suleymanov Najaf Novruz with articles 214.2.1, 214.2.3, 120.2.1, 120.2.3, 120.2.4, 120.2.5, 120.2.7, 120.2.10, 120.2.11, 120.2.12, 228.2.2, 228.3, 206.4, 228.3, Gabulov Ariz Zahid with articles 206.3 and 228.2.1 of the Criminal Code.
