Azerbaijan to index occupational pensions
11:55 / 21.01.2010 The amount of pension assigned before January 1, 2006, as well as funds in individual accounts is being indexed for 2006-2009, said Salim Muslimov, chairman of the State Social Protection Fund.
According to him, for determining pension benefits citizens who retired before 2006, their work years will be multiplied by a predetermined amount - AZN 170 and the final amount will be transferred to their personal account.
"For example, if a citizen had 25 years of work experience before 2006, AZN 170 will be calculated for each year until 2006, and the period for 2006-2009 will be indexed for inflation. The resulting amount will be transferred to their personal account,” he added.
