Baku hosts conference “NATO at its 60th anniversary: Some member states’ vision on NATO role”

22:59 / 17.12.2009 Romania’s Embassy to Baku, as NATO Contact Point Embassy (CPE), in cooperation with NATO International School in Azerbaijan (NISA), organized on Wednesday a conference on “NATO at its 60th anniversary: Some member states’ vision on NATO role”, APA reports quoting the press service of the Romania’s embassy. The conference is part of the events organized to mark the anniversary of 60 years since the Alliance’s inception. This conference aim is to present participants in Azerbaijan the impact the Alliance have had upon the democratic and prosperous development of its members, as well as to underlined the importance of observing the assumed commitments in the process of Azerbaijan getting closer to NATO. NISA Director Mikayil Yusifov, Romania’s ambassador to Azerbaijan Nikolae Ureci, Turkish ambassador Hulusi Kilic, Polish ambassador Kraevski and Norwegian ambassador Jon Ramberg attended the conference. On Jan. 1, 2009 Romania took over the mandate of NATO Contact Point Embassy in Azerbaijan on the period 2009 through 2010.
