Iranian ambassador: “Withdrawal of Armenian invader troops from Azerbaijan is in favor of Armenia too”

“Withdrawal of Armenian invader troops from Azerbaijan is in favor of Armenia too”, said ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan Mahammad Bagir Bahrami at a press conference Monday, APA reports.

00:49 / 08.12.2009 The ambassador said there should be unity in the region and any issue led to the division damaged whole region and its peoples. “Karabakh conflict is a problem damaging and weakening the region. Iran wants this conflict to be solved peacefully in favor of Azerbaijan. Iran is always condemning the occupation. No invader can stay in the lands it occupied. The history is saying that. You see the Saddam Hussein’s fate when he occupied the Iranian territory”.

Bahrami noted that the region would be developed after the liberation of Nagorno Karabakh. “The development is a guarantee for peace. Iran always supports peace. If the Nagorno Karabakh problem is solved, whole region will be in peace. This problem should be solved with the participation of all regional countries, but not outside”.

The ambassador said the OSCE Minsk Group activity didn’t give a result. “They don’t intend to reach a result. They protect only their interests”.
