EU Commissioner: “Armenian-Turkish normalization will have positive impact on Turkey’s aspiration for EU membership”

13:59 / 06.04.2010 “Normalization of the Turkish-Armenian relations will have positive impact on the Turkey’s aspiration for EU membership”, said EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule, who arrived in Armenian on Tuesday, APA reports quoting News Armenia.

The peaceful neighborhood relationship is an important criterion for EU membership of any country, said Fule in is joint press conference with Armenian foreign minister Edward Nalbandian, he said he welcomed the protocols signed between the two countries and added that the European Union supported the ratification of the protocols without any pre-condition in the acceptable time. Fule said the European Union was ready to assist in the solution of trans-border problems after the ratification.
