Vilayat Eyvazov chairs meeting on killing of foreign exchange office employee in Sumgayit
Meeting was held in connection with the armed incident killing one and injuring the other in Sumgayit on February 20.
23:30 / 23.02.2010 Deputy Interior Minister, Lieutenant-General Vilayat Eyvazov chaired the meeting. The meeting was devoted to the measures taken to solve the grave crime committed in Sumgayit on February 20, as a result of which the employee of foreign exchange office Vugar Balayev was killed, his father Ismayil Balayev was injured. Deputy Minister gave necessary instructions for solving the crime.
Interior Ministry and Prosecutor General’s Office have issued a joint statement on the armed incident in Sumgayit. According to the statement, the employee of the foreign exchange office in Sumgayit Vugar Balayev was killed, his father Ismayil Balayev was knifed on February 20. Criminal case has been launched on the fact on articles 120.2.5 (murder for profit), 29, 120.2.5, 120.2.7 (attempt to kill two or more persons), 228.1 (illegal carrying firearms) of the Criminal Code. The group composed of the representatives of Interior Ministry and Prosecutor General’s Office continues measures to detain the criminal.
