Azerbaijani-American for the first time runs for the senior political office in US

Paul Murad, Las Vegas real-estate businessman of Azerbaijani origin, has officially announced his 2010 campaign for the Governor of the State of Nevada, APA reports quoting its Washington DC correspondent.

13:08 / 18.02.2010 Mr. Murad was born in 1975, at the age of sixteen he moved to the US. After University he has moved to Nevada, became a US citizen, started a successful business, authored a book and been actively involved in philanthropic endeavors in the community.

All Azerbaijani and Turkic-Americans declared to support his campaign. Mr. Murad will participate in the campaign as a Democratic candidate. The election will take place this June.

In his statement about the campaign Azerbaijani-American candidate is focusing in particular on financial crisis issues and America’s economic problems. He promised to work on bring all Nevadans the opportunity to pursue the American Dream by creating jobs and diversifying the economy.

“I will aggressively promote Nevada throughout the U.S. and internationally,” Murad states, “bringing new business and jobs to our state, and attracting capital and investments to diversify our state’s economic base.”

Azerbaijani-Americans believe that, Murad’s campaign is a very challenging task, but Paul has seen his share of challenges, and has outlined a plan of action to make his political aspirations come true June 8.
