WHO to send extra swine flu vaccines to Azerbaijan

15:33 / 12.02.2010 The World Health Organization (WHO) is planning to send to Azerbaijan extra vaccines against A/H1N1 virus(swine flu), specialist for infectious diseases of the WHO office in Azerbaijan Vusala Allahverdiyeva told APA. She noted that in the next period vaccines for 2 percent of the Azerbaijani population will be sent to Azerbaijan in accordance with the plan signed with the Ministry of Health. Negotiations on bringing the second part of vaccines are being held.

To her, international health congress is satisfied with the vaccination process against A/H1N1 virus in Azerbaijan: “Both from the standpoint of attraction of people and from geographical environment standpoint about 70 percent of the people have been involved this process”.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has sent 172 000 dozes of swine flu vaccines to Azerbaijan.
