US and Norwegian ambassadors invited to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs for protest
Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Azerbaijan Jon Ramberg and US Charge d’ Affaires to Azerbaijan Donald Lu were invited to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on January 15.
10:52 / 18.01.2010 They were received by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Vagif Sadigov to discuss the visit of Norwegian and US diplomats to Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on January 12-13 and joint statement they made at a press conference on January 13 dedicated to the results of the visit.
Sadigov said the issue was investigated and expressed protest of the government of Azerbaijan against the activities of the Norwegian and US diplomats during this visit, which were contrary to the ethics of diplomats in the accrediting countries and 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic relations.
It was emphasized at the meeting that the attempts of some countries to describe some events in Azerbaijan as a violation of human rights and to politicize such cases are unacceptable and warned that such actions of foreign diplomats are not in accordance with the level of relations between our countries and could damage their development.
The guests were informed that Azerbaijan is loyal to fulfillment of all its international commitments, including guarantee for security of the diplomats accredited in the country.Bu yazı ( 550 ) - dəfə oxunmuşdur
