A group of Azerbaijani human rights defenders to visit Beneniyar

A group of Azerbaijani human rights defenders will visit Beneniyar village of Julfa region, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, member of the delegation, human rights defender Chingiz Ganizadeh told APA.

21:14 / 09.01.2010 He said that a group of human rights defenders met with Interior Minister Ramil Usubov.
“We told him we want to visit Beneniyar village. We asked the minister to give instructions to the interior authorities of Nakhchivan in order to prevent any unpleasant incident. You know that the approach to the happenings in this village is ambiguous. Some hide the happenings in Beneniyar, some try to stir the process,” he said.

According to Chingiz Ganizadeh, they will visit Beneniyar next week to investigate the happenings objectively.
“After returning we will hold a press conference and give detailed information,” he said.

Reports spread that the local residents clashed with the police, force was used, several persons were arrested in Beneniyar village on the day of Ashura.
