Azerbaijani Parliament appeals to U.S. Congress

Azerbaijani Parliament appealed to the U.S. Congress in connection with the aid allocated to Nagorno Karabakh.

12:09 / 16.12.2009 APA reports that member of the commission set up to prepare the document, MP Musa Guliyev presented the appeal.

The appeal says that separatist, puppet regime has been set up in Nagorno Karabakh, those territories have become shelter of terrorist organizations. It is also noted that OSCE Minsk Group have not justified the expectations.

According to the appeal, after this step of the Congress, Armenian leadership will create more obstacles for the negotiations on the settlement of the Karabakh problem. The document expresses confidence that Nobel Prize Winner U.S. President Barack Obama will veto the document.
“We hope the adoption of the document that causes concern of Azerbaijani society will be prevented,” he said.

108 parliamentarians voted for the appeal.

U.S. Congress allocated $8 million to Nagorno Karabakh in FY 2010.
