The members of the radical religious group planning to commit mass terror attacks in Azerbaijan have been rendered harmless.
14:13 / 17.03.2010 The officers of the National Security Ministry detained eight persons as a result of the operations. There are citizens of Dagestan and Chechnya among the detainees.
One member of the group was detained yesterday in Balaken while smuggling weapons from Georgia. A great deal of weapons and drugs were seized from him.
The investigations found out that the detainees were members of the radical religious group. The organized gang reportedly intended to commit mass terror attacks in Azerbaijan’s capital. With this purpose they smuggled a lot of weapons from Georgia to Azerbaijan. Operations continue to detain other members of the group.
