Azerbaijani conductor gives concert in memory of Polish state and public figures killed in plane crash

13:44 / 16.04.2010 On April 19, Azerbaijan’s young conductor, winner of international contests Eyyub Guliyev will give a concert together with the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra in memory of Polish state and public figures killed on April 10 in a plane crash near Smolensk, Russia.

The concert will take place at Saint Trinity Church in Gdansk, Poland, Eyyub Guliyev told APA. The Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Eyyub Guliyev will play Polish composer Alexander Tansman’s Variations a theme by Frescobaldi, Benjamin Britten’s Simple Symphony and for the first time in Poland, Azerbaijani composer Fikret Amirov’s “Nizami” symphony.

Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in 1982 and accompanied the world’s famous performers and soloists like Mstislav Rostropovich, Krzysztof Penderecki, Sabine Meyer, Boris Pergamenschikow, David Geringas, Gil Shaham, Misha Mayski and Natalia Gutman.

Eyyub Guliyev is a first Azerbaijani conductor to perform together with the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra.
