Israel and Turkey are involved in a diplomatic scandal again for "Kurlar vadisi pusu" serial

Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister insults Turkish ambassador

11:36 / 13.01.2010 Israel and Turkey are involved in a diplomatic scandal again. Turkish ambassador to Israel Oguz Chelikkol was invited to the Israel’s foreign ministry on January 11, APA reports quoting Cihan news agency. Deputy Foreign Minister of Israel Denni Ayalon expressed the protest of his government against anti-Israel campaign in Turkish TV series “The Valley of Wolves”. Israeli newspapers said there was diplomatic scandal at the meeting. Ambassador Chelikkol was offered to take seat in a sofa lower the Ayalon’s armchair and when the photo-reporters asked the deputy minister to welcome the ambassador he rejected it. Ayalon told journalists in Hebrew: “We would like to show that he takes lower seat and there is only flag on the table”. Some sources said Ayalon forgot that the cameras were on when he told these words, but Haaretz said that it was the policy of foreign minister Lieberman who was trying to prevent Defense Minister Ehud Barak’s official visit to Turkey next week.

Ayalon told journalists on January 12 that he didn’t intend to insult the Turkish ambassador, but added that he will not apologize. “It is Turkey, which has to apologize for Erdogan’s speech and TV series”.
