Dmitriy Medvedev: “Hopeful steps were made toward the solution of Karabakh problem, but not all issues were coordinated”

“The Nagorno Karabakh is very difficult problem, but there are other difficult problems in the Caucasus.

10:24 / 14.05.2010 Recently hopeful steps have been made toward the solution of Karabakh problem and there are certain progresses, but not all issues have been coordinated yet. I took mediatory mission in the talks between the presidents of both countries and I organized several meetings between Ilham Aliyev and Serzh Sargsyan. These meetings will be developed. The positive steps made recently should be developed”, said Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev at a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul in Ankara, APA reports. Medvedev said he didn’t intend to focus on the issue of liberation of five occupied regions of Azerbaijan in the first phase when the journalist asked his about that. “We have to approach such issues sensibly. Russia is not a part of this conflict, but it is an active mediator joined the process”.

Medvedev informed about the meeting to be held between the foreign ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia.
