Hidayat Orujov: The registration of more than 10 religious communities has been rejected

“About 350 religious communities have been registered since last autumn. The registration of more than 10 religious communities has been rejected,” chairman of the State Committee for Religious Associations Hidayat Orujov told journalists.

12:35 / 30.04.2010 Chairman of the committee said the rejected religious communities were Islamic and non-Islamic. He said the rejection of their registration had its own reasons.
“The documents of some of them were not prepared legally,” he said.
Asked about the detention of Turkish citizens illegally promoting religion in Azerbaijan, Hidayat Orujov said:
“The illegal actions have been and will be commented within the framework of the law. The State Commission has its own functions, law-enforcement bodies have their own authorities. This issue is more in the competence of the law-enforcement bodies,” he said.
