Draft law on approval of prosecutor general of Azerbaijan to be discussed by parliament’s legal policy and state-building committee

The committee on legal policy and state-building of the Azerbaijani parliament will discuss the draft law on approval of prosecutor general of the country on Tuesday, the committee chairman Ali Huseynov reported.

12:36 / 20.04.2010 The document is expected to be discussed at the plenary session of the parliament in the second half of the day.
The President of Azerbaijan sent a draft law on approval of prosecutor general to the parliament. The draft law describes recommendation to appoint incumbent prosecutor general Zakir Garalov to this office for the next term. Garalov ends second term of his office on April 25. He was appointed as a prosecutor general on April 25, 2000. According to the legislation of Azerbaijan, the prosecutor general is appointed every five years.
