Head of ICRC mission in Azerbaijan: “We visited Eldar Tagiyev and informed his family and authorities about him”

Regarding the status and fate of Armenian family, which passed into the Azerbaijani side, Vandenhove said the organization had no right to determine their status. “Our committee is visiting only the hostages to monitor their conditions, which have to be in accordance with the national legislation and international law principles. Their legal status is determined by Azerbaijan and Armenia on the basis of relevant law norms and international law as well. Our organization has no right to interfere in the issue of legal status”.
