Ali Hasanov: “Azerbaijan is an independent state, determines itself what to do and how to do”

Most parties represented in the parliament sent their representatives to the election commissions. Only Musavata Party has not sent a representative, its seats are empty,” head of socio-political department of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov said, APA reports

Ali Hasanov said it is in the competence of the parliament to solve the issue.
“It is in the competence of the parliament to consider or not the appointment of other candidates to the vacancies in the election commissions,” he said.

Commenting on the international organizations’ recommendations on the formation of election commission, Ali Hasanov said:
“We accept with pleasure the recommendations that indeed help improve election practice in Azerbaijan, form legislative and other branches of the government, have positive influence on Azerbaijan’s image. Of course, we can not accept the proposals that make the fate of the elections dependent on the will of separate persons, organizations, sometimes upset the elections. We are a state and the state holds the elections. No European organization will bear the responsibility if election is upset. Azerbaijani state and election institutions will be responsible for it. We are an independent state and determine ourselves what to do and how to do. At the same time we attentively approach the opinions of the organizations as a part of the transnational world,” he said.
