Council of Europe approves assistance program connected with the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan

They gave, in particular, an initial mandate to the Steering Committee for Human Rights (CDDH) to consider the relevant parts of the Interlaken Declaration.
Moreover, the Deputies approved a pre-electoral assistance program in view of the forthcoming Parliamentary elections, which will take place in Azerbaijan in November 2010. They encouraged the Azerbaijani authorities to take all appropriate measures to secure free and fair elections.
