Landslide-damaged houses and facilities replaced with new buildings in Azerbaijan

Houses and facilities damaged by landslides and heavy rains in the different regions of Azerbaijan are replaced with new buildings, Minister of Emergency Situations Kemaleddin Heydarov told journalists, APA reports. The minister said more than 30 buildings were constructed in landslide-resistant areas instead of houses and facilities damaged by landslide in Masalli region last year. “The purpose of the Ministry of Emergency Situations is to repair the landslide-damaged buildings or to build new one. Heavy rains last summer damaged a number of houses in Guba, Gusar, Khachmaz, Hajigabul, Shirvan and Salyan regions. According to the order of the President, the construction work was started in those regions as well. Most of houses are ready, but some are under the construction”.

Heydarov said construction materials priced at more than 400 000 AZN were sent to the sufferers.
